How to calculate travel distance
What is distance traveled?
Speed is the distance traveled per unit time, so the distance traveled can be calculated from the speed and the time taken to travel.
For example, a speed of 20km/h means that the vehicle travels 20km per hour, so if the vehicle travels for 2 hours, it will travel 40km.
Therefore, distance traveled can be calculated by multiplying speed and time.
Example: If you travel at 80km/h for 3 hours, how many km will you have traveled?
Distance traveled = Speed × Time, so
Distance traveled = 80(km/h) × 3(h)
= 240(km)
Therefore, the required distance is 240km.
Calculation method when units are different
Depending on the unit of distance you want, you may need to convert distance or time units.
Example: If you travel at a speed of 50 m per minute for 2 hours, how far will you travel?
In this case, the speed is the distance per minute, so convert the travel time into minutes, which is 2 hours = 120 minutes.
Distance traveled = Speed × Time, so
Distance traveled = 50(m/min) × 120(min)
= 6000(m)
So the required distance is 6000m.
