Blood pressure determination calculation

About blood pressure determination

It determines whether you have high blood pressure based on the input systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, and the location where the blood pressure was measured.

The measurement location can be calculated using Office blood pressure or Home blood pressure.

The judgment positions of the systolic and diastolic blood pressures entered in the blood pressure classification table are also displayed, so you can easily check them.

The judgment criteria is based on the value of "Japanese Society of Hypertension, Hypertension Treatment Guidelines 2019 p.18".

What is high blood pressure?

Hypertension is a condition in which blood pressure (the pressure exerted on the inner walls of blood vessels as blood passes through them) remains chronically higher than normal.

It is said that high blood pressure is likely to occur due to causes such as excessive salt intake, obesity, alcohol consumption, and lack of exercise.

Continuing high blood pressure can put a constant strain on your blood vessels, causing them to become damaged and lose their flexibility, leading to arteriosclerosis.

When arteriosclerosis develops, the possibility of developing diseases such as angina pectoris, myocardial infarction, heart failure, cerebral infarction, and cerebral hemorrhage increases.

Office blood pressure and Home blood pressure

Office blood pressure is blood pressure measured in a hospital examination room.

The blood pressure measured at home using a home blood pressure monitor is Home blood pressure.

Home blood pressure has lower standards than Office blood pressure because blood pressure increases in the examination room due to tension and stress.

Systolic blood pressure and Diastolic blood pressure

Systolic blood pressure is the pressure when the heart contracts to pump blood.

On the other hand, Diastolic blood pressure is the pressure when the pumped blood returns and the heart is expanding.
